After many months of practice and paperwork the FOBISSEA games were finally upon us. Those parents and children involved will understand what a tiring few days were experienced.

The games are split across three days and into four different sporting events. On the first day we have athletics and swimming. This is followed by tee-ball and then finally football. The competition is fierce, and of the six schools entered Harrow Beijing has by far the lowest intake. There were three Dulwich schools and two British Schools.
The first day was our most successful and saw us take home plenty of medals in both sports. Daniel Ng and Alex Smith were particularly successful and each left with five plus medals.
Tee-ball proved to be the most difficult and the children struggled to understand the rule adaptations. However as the day progressed the teams improved and two of the three teams picked up points.
Football was always going to be more successful than tee-ball, but also difficult to compete with the larger schools. Boys football was tough but we managed some big results against Dulwich Shanghai and Suzhou.
In the girls football we finally saw our duck broken and all three age ranges managed goals. The Year 4s and 5s even managed their first wins while the Year 6 girls improved throughout and picked up a very creditable draw.

Throughout the three days the children behaved magnificently which was even more impressive given that most of them were having 14 hour days!
Thanks to all the staff who helped to make the days run so smoothly and who assisted in the coaching of all the teams.
I would like to give my sincerest thanks to all parents who hosted the children from Dulwich Suzhou and made their stay extremely pleasant.

The FOBISSEA games were a bit frightening but they were probably the best athletics or swimming meet of this year! The three days went really slowly but they were great fun! Everyone there had taken part in at least one event. There was athletics and swimming, tee ball and football. Harrow did well in all the events that we took part in. We especially improved on football. We all tried our best and that made it really fun! It was the same year groups together with boys and girls separately, except for the tee ball and the shuttle relay. There were about six schools including Harrow Beijing, British School of Beijing, British School of Guangzhou, Dulwich Shanghai, Dulwich Suzhou and Dulwich Beijing. Dulwich Beijing was hosting the event and did really well. We all went home tired from all the cheering and the sport but it was all worth it!

The FOBISSEA games were very fun and also very challenging. On the first day we had swimming and athletics and I got six medals, four from swimming and two from athletics. On Friday we had a T-Ball competition, and although we tried our best, we came 5th. Finally, on Friday we had football which my team, the Year 6 boys, managed to come 4th in. Altogether I think that Harrow did very well considering that it was our first time participating in the primary FOBISSEA and I'm sure we all had lots of fun (and Gatorade).
