Ski Trip 2010, by Ellie Bainbridge, year 10
The time had come to welcome the bright blue skies, shed the city down jacket and work on that goggle tan, the ski trip had arrived.
This years skiing trip was fantastic!  We left school in the afternoon on the Sunday with an enthusiastic bunch of all ages, there was an air of anticipation amongst the beginners and a breeze of confidence amongst those who could already ski.
We arrived at the hotel and there being a TV in every room was an added bonus!  After a good nights' sleep we all woke early for a day on the slopes which was great fun.  Mr Heron, we have all learnt a great deal from your skiing abilities. . . . . . . . You are nearly as good as Miss Hill!
We all looked hilarious when we hit the slopes, waddling along in what felt like huge oversized boats attached to our feet, to perform as though it was the first time in our lives we were getting up and walking, now I know how ducks feel. . . . .

Learning to ski was an experience in itself. . . . .  It is harder than it looks to fall down an icy hill on your bum. Especially if it is with style!
We went out for dinner on the second night at a great Chinese restaurant. Various dishes were enjoyed by all.  Mr. Newbold devoured a whole bowl of an unidentified dish on our table. . . . . What was that sir?  I’m sure you enjoyed it anyway.
By the end of the trip we were all exhausted, but we had had a great time! Thanks teachers!

Ski Jokes:
Hey did you hear the one about the ski novice, who is blindly attempting an advanced run? The more competent skier met him on the slope and said, aren’t you supposed to be on the Green run? The novice pointed at a nearby tree and exclaimed ‘well that’s green isn’t it.’
Q. How many skiers does it take to change a light bulb?
A. Ten, one to screw it in and the other 9 to stand around saying "Nice turn, nice turn, nice turn........."
Q. How many ski instructors does it take to change a light bulb?
A. Only one - he holds it while the mountain revolves around him.

The Ski Trip
By Alexander Smith, Peter Lim, Samuel Macrae
The ski trip was very fun, but tiring, especially on the 4 hour bus ride!
We were sorted into groups by our ability to ski. On the first day, we went to Duolemeidi and it was very cold. But we still had fun, even though we fell down again and again and again. The second day, it was still cold, not surprisingly. Amazingly, we became much better and people didn’t fall down as much. On the last day, we went to Wanlong, and it was absolutely freezing. It was about -25 degrees Celsius! We still had fun though. On the bus ride back, some people needed to go to the toilet, which was quite funny.
And when we arrived back, we thought it was boiling in Beijing.

All in all the Ski Trip was very enjoyable and we would all like to go again.
