This academic year we welcome two new Heads of School – Aurelie Babey (Head Girl) and Saikiran Adapa (Head Boy). This is their letter:
"Hello!
My name
is Aurelie Babey and I'm proud to be Head Girl of Harrow International School
Beijing and work along side Anna Hiraoka and Fiona Lockwood, our Deputy Head
Girls.
I am currently studying Biology Chemistry and Maths, and further broaden my knowledge
by studying Physiotherapy at university. In my time at the school I have
had the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, from choir to
First Aid Emergency course. This gave me the chance to sharpen my
leadership skills and responsibilities.
My name is Saikiran Adapa and I am the Head Boy of Harrow international School Beijing.
I have been at this school for one year and I’m proud to have been chosen for
this role. I will be working alongside Simon Ford-Coron and Young Shin, our Deputy
Head Boys.
I am currently studying Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths with the aim to
study Mechanical engineering at higher levels. Studying at Harrow Beijing gave
me the opportunity to take part in numerous activities ranging from Beginners Spanish
to International Award, an activity that strengthens ones leadership skills
while testing their endurance to the limits.
We take our roles within the school very seriously, despite being in the midst of sending our UCAS applications.
Head of School is a demanding position as we represent the School and act as
the main spokespersons of the student body while providing a positive role model to younger
students.
We rely
on our fellow senior prefects for assistance at all times; as we all work as a
close-knit team and look forward to the challenges we will face this academic
year, ranging from nailing our A-Levels to organizing our Leavers Ball.
Every Head Boy and Head Girl is different and brings their own qualities to their
role. Hopefully our peers and the younger students will be able to see that
working hard and throwing themselves at any opportunity does have a positive
result where you can achieve anything you want to.
We are particularly looking forward to the challenges that we will face this year, not
to mention the joy and privilege of being part of a highly skilled Prefect
team."
