It is that time of the year again –Den Day! This was Harrow's fourth annual Den Day and this year we built the dens on the school field! On 3 May, all Lower School students from Pre-Nursery through to Year 5 were invited to build dens for Den Day. Initiated by the UK charity organization, Save the Children, the idea behind Den Day is to use a fun and creative activity to learn about a very serious world-wide issue: children's rights.
On Friday, each child taking part brought in as many items as possible from home to help build dens. After bringing in materials - boxes, bamboo poles, string, etc., the Lower School Houses built six magnificent and resourceful dens! Den Day was an amazing adventure for the children; the funds that they raised also will change other children's lives. What is more, the students learnt new skills and important lessons about the world around them, as well as developed their understanding of community, charity, and responsibility.
