Harrow Beijing held its annual Harrow Ducker on 28 March at both Main Campus and City Campus. As a traditional running race, the Harrow Ducker commemorates the contribution of John Lyon, the founder of Harrow School.
The event kicked off with a big warm up led by some student sport leaders of the FOBISIA Team. In order to encourage the children from a range of different year groups, the students had the choice of running different distances and there was even a special route for our Early Years pupils! There were also a number of staff that took part thus motivating the students to run with them!
Ms. Emily Colebourne, the Upper School Ducker organizer, said that, 'I would like to say a big thank you to all who helped with this year's Harrow Ducker. Our student sports leaders were incredibly helpful. A special mention to Year 10's sports leaders – Thomas, Vaughn, Olivia and Cici – who helped all day including the Early Years and Lower School events!'
Middle and long distance running is an excellent way to keep fit and to lead a healthy lifestyle. By holding our annual Harrow Ducker, we hope to provide our students a great opportunity to remember Harrow tradition, as well as to face challenges with determination. Congratulations to all the participants and a special mention to our Ducker winners from each year group!
