Lower School Pyjama Reading Day

On 26 April, the Lower School students had a wonderful day on Pyjama Reading Day!

One of the things that the Lower School has tried really hard to focus on this year is reading - the words that the children learn, the books they know and read and people's love of reading and sharing. To launch our new Guided Reading scheme, Oxford Reading Tree, we wanted the children to explore the new books, have fun with reading and be able to relax whilst doing so!

On Friday, studnets from each year group wore their pyjamas to school and all year groups held a multitude of activities to celebrate reading, including year groups reading to each other, and sharing books. Some student groups discussed their favorite books whilst others designed new book covers for books they already knew. Overall, it was a wonderful day full of books, words, reading, sharing and pyjamas, a fun day for all!
