On 18 February, Year 5 officially opened our new Reading Area in the Year 5 corridor. This is a comfortable space designed to encourage a love of reading in our students. It will be used for individual and paired reading, as well as small-group learning activities. The ability to read is not just an essential skill for our students' academic success and future career, but is also an integral part of living a rich, rewarding life. Our opening ceremony was attended by a number of parents representing each Year 5 class, along with Mr. Shinkfield, Mrs. Shelley and Ms. Davey. The Year 5 Reading Area has been made possible by generous donations from our Year 5 parents, and was designed by architect and mother of Trayton Z, Mrs. Shaohua Di. The Year 5 teachers and students are very thankful for our parents' contribution to our learning.
