Community Service|Harrow Beijing Visits Our Learning House: Keeping the Light of Love and Sport Shining
Running with Purpose, Giving with Heart
Spreading the Power of Sports and Compassion
After the annual Harrow Ducker, the school extended the passion for sports and the spirit of giving to those in need of care and support. Recently, Mr. Phil Akerman, Headmaster of Harrow Beijing, together with a group of teachers, visited Our Learning House – a long-standing charity partner of the school – to continue embodying the spirit of love in action through sports and service.

During the visit, Harrow teachers sat down with the educators at Our Learning House to listen to their stories about supporting children with special educational needs. They learned about the dedication behind their work and the challenges they overcome every day. The exchange was not just about sharing experiences – it was about connecting hearts, building empathy, and creating genuine understanding.

Later, teachers joined the children in their classrooms for games and interactive activities. Amid laughter and joy, the children’s courage, confidence, and kindness began to shine. In those moments, Harrow’s core values of Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship came vividly to life – not as abstract ideals, but through every smile, every moment of connection, and every warm embrace.

Mr. Akerman personally presented trophies and medals to the children who had participated in the Harrow Ducker, praising their courage, perseverance, and enthusiasm. Each medal stood as a symbol of effort, joy, and encouragement – a reminder that every small step can illuminate the path ahead.

Finally, Harrow Beijing donated all the funds raised from the Ducker to Our Learning House to support its continued work in education, rehabilitation, and psychological care – helping more children who need love and attention.

Through this visit, Harrow Beijing once again demonstrated that education is not only about imparting knowledge and skills, but also about nurturing compassion, empathy, and a sense of responsibility through every interaction and act of care.
