Football – More than a game
‘Humble in victory, gracious in defeat.’ – Christopher Earle
Football is used as a vehicle of empowerment and education at Harrow Beijing as well as a tool for developing the overall mindset of excellence both in the academic and sporting sense. We believe that a holistic education is imperative as we prepare our students for the world’s most sought-after universities. We also maintain that participating in team games like football provides our students with transferable life skills, an opportunity to embody our values and a sense of belonging, which we hope will enhance their overall experience at school.
The Harrow Beijing Football Academy is designed to offer students a safe environment where mistakes, losses and winning are used as an opportunity to learn and build character. Through our service learning programme, we encourage our members to explore the relationship between our core values, football and its context and global citizenship. Good decision making (both on and off the pitch) and high academic standards are monitored through mentoring, personal performance plans and our cross-curricular football provision.
The Harrow Beijing values of Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship form the core of our football philosophy – Football provides an excellent opportunity to harness all of these skills as well as break down any social barriers that may exist in our diverse community.
With a thriving program including development and competitive teams, qualified coaches, an established service learning programme, partnerships with local football clubs, data analysis and individual player profiles, we truly offer world class provision.
